Catalogue numbers: F 822, JH 2095. In Auvers, van Gogh had been able to satisfy the longing for the north. He had a deep need to return to the milieu of his youth, to come full circle to the origins of his art in Holland. And so he took to painting updated versions of earlier works. Cows harked back to work done in The Hague. | |
