Landscape with Figures

c. 1660
Oil on canvas, 108 x 163 cm
Museo de Bellas Artes, Bilbao

This landscape of dark tonality is in fact a hunting scene with water-fowls, the hunter's boat is approaching in the bottom right corner of the painting. The figures in the painting have only secondary importance, the primary subject being the representation of the open landscape.
