In the Haagsche Plateelbakkerij Rozenburg, Juriaan Kok fund a manufacturer capable of translating his subtle formal and decorative ideas into reality. After a long search for a porcelain that would take his unusual designs, in 1899 he finally succeeded in producing a light, thin-sided frit porcelain of ivory colour and glass-like consistency.

The teapot was produced in the Haagsche Plateelbakkerij Rozenburg, The Hague, a Dutch pottery that specialized in eggshell porcelain, developed by Juriaan Kok. The factory was in operation from 1883 to 1916.
