KONINCK, Dutch family of painters and printmakers

Salomon Koninck was the son of Pieter de Koninck, a goldsmith from Antwerp, and was related to Aert de Coninck (d. 1639), who was also a goldsmith and the father of Jacob Koninck I and Philips Koninck, but the exact relationship between the two families is not clear. Salomon, Jacob and Philips, all of whom were painters, draughtsmen and etchers, may have been cousins.
