LAMPI, Johann Baptist II
(b. 1775, Trento, d. 1837, Wien)

Portrait of a Gentleman

1809
Oil on canvas, painted oval, 76 x 62 cm
Private collection

This portrait represents an unidentified gentleman, half length, in a white ruffled shirt and blue jacket. The handsome portrait was likely executed in Vienna, where Lampi the Younger returned to in 1805, was made a member of the Akadamie, and would remain for the remainder of his successful career.
