Oil on copper, 73 x 93 cm

Locatelli, an important landscape and genre painter in Rome, occasionally also painted vedute. The present view is taken from a raised viewpoint from the narrow side of the Piazza Navona on a market day. At the left, the long front of the Palazzo Doria Pamphilj and the adjoined church of Sant'Agnese dominate the picture. In the centre, Bernini's famous fountain can be seen.
