This detail of the fresco depicts a street scene in Siena. In the street itself are laden asses, a goat-herd bringing his flock into town and two countrywomen with poultry and baskets. Behind them are a shoe-shop, a teacher with a class of children, a spice dealer and a tailor cutting cloth on a sloping table.
