Cappella di San Luca, Santissima Annuziata, Florence

In 1565, Lorenzi worked on the decorations for the wedding of Francesco I de' Medici and Joanna of Austria, which gained him a series of important commissions in Florence, including the statue of Abraham for the Chapel of St Luke in Santissima Annunziata. The chapel was designed by Giovanni Angelo Montorsoli who converted the former chapter house of the monastery church into a memorial chapel for artists.

The decoration of the chapel with frescoes and stucco figures was executed between 1558 and 1571 by several artists. Lorenzi's Abraham is one of the ten stucco statues in niches of the walls to the left and right of the altar.
