The central group of this devotional painting repeats with some slight variations the figures in a painting now in Boston (a practically identical version of which is in the National Gallery, London). The accompanying saints are, however, radically changed.
This painting, signed and dated lower right (Laurentius Lotus 1522) is probably a prototype of the paintings in Boston and London.
