Commissioned by Charles the Bold and executed in encrusted enamel technique, the reliquary shows the duke holding a finger relic of St Lambert and presented by St George, whose posture resembles the same saint depicted 35 years earlier in Jan van Eyck's painting of Canon van der Paele. | |
