Christ hangs bleeding on the cross. In the terminals are, on the left, the mourning Virgin supported by Mary Magdalene in red and one of the other Marys, and on the right the mourning St John the Evangelist and the centurion who recognised at the Crucifixion that Christ was the Son of God.
