This Romanesque statue called The Return of the Crusader is presumed to be the tomb of Gérard I Vaudémont and Huderige of Dagsbourg (or Hughes I Vaudémont and Aigeline of Burgundy). It is a moving image of an old Crusader who has returned from the Holy Land after an absence of more than a decade. He is greeted by his wife.
