A Bath-House

c. 1480
Drawing
Fürsten zu Waldburg-Wolfegg, Schloss Wolfegg

In the later Middle Ages realistic scenes in bath-houses, which often functioned as brothels, provided opportunities for erotic inventions, but they are more satirical than pornographic. The present drawing proves that cleanliness was not always next to godliness.
