In 1523 Raffaello da Montelupo entered the workshop of Lorenzetto in Rome. There he assisted several projects including the decoration of the Chigi Chapel in Santa Maria del Popolo. Lorenzetto was designated in the will of Agostino Chigi to execute sculptures in the Chigi Chapel. The figures of Elijah and Jonah, as well as the relief of Christ and the Woman Taken in Adultery on the chapel's altar, appear to have been based on designs by Raphael yet are rather weak in execution.
