The Toilet of Bathsheba

This etching was made after the painting by Rembrandt, now in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. It shows the original appearance of the painting on which severe abrasion in the background on both sides of the figures has resulted in an overall darkening and loss of detail in the landscape, trees, and foliage.
