Santa Maria della Consolazione, Venice
Morlaiter executed two angels (one of which is shown here) for the high altar of Santa Maria della Consolazione (also known as Santa Maria della Fava). These angels seem particularly close to the work of Giambattista Pittoni. This is reflected in the billowing movement of the drapery and also in his borrowing of Pittoni's studied hallmark of the raised hand.
