César d'Estrées (1628—1714) was abbot of the Abbey of Saint-Germain-des-Prés and Duke-Bishop of Laon. He became cardinal in 1672, and was French ambassador in Rome and Spain. His reception in Venice was recorded in a painting by Luca Carlevaris. | |
