Staatliche Museen, Berlin

Christoph Nathe was a Silesian artist, whose lively rendering of the natural phenomena of light and air in his watercolours were well ahead of his time. This picture depicts an accurately observed piece of Nature of the sort seen in Dutch landscape art of the 17th century.
