QUERCIA, Jacopo della
(b. ca. 1367, Quercia Grossa, d. 1438, Siena)

Madonna and Child

Terracotta, 85 x 67 cm
Musée du Louvre, Paris

Related to the wooden sculptures are a series of half-length terracotta and stucco versions of the Madonna, which are usually assigned to Jacopo della Quercia's bottega, but must ultimately be traceable back to a lost prototype by Jacopo.
