Catalogue number: Bartsch 271. Cornelis Claesz. Anslo (1592-1646) was an Amsterdam cloth merchant and Mennonite preacher. Rembrandt was commissioned to paint him and his wife Aeltje Gerritsdr. Schouten. This commission had an apparent spin off of an etching of him alone. | |
