This drawing shows the ruins of the old town hall in Amsterdam after the fire. The inscription reads: Seen from the weighing hall, the town hall of Amsterdam after it was destroyed by fire, 9 July 1652. Rembrandt.

There are touches in red chalk on the drawing by later hand.
