Titia Uylenburgh

1639
Brown ink and wash, 178 x 146 mm
Nationalmuseum, Stockholm

Catalogue number: Benesch 441.

The drawing represents Titia Uylenburgh (1605-1641), the sister of Rembrandt's wife Saskia, at her needlework, spectacles on her nose in a concentrated pose. The drawing recalls a drawing by Lucas van Leyden from an album "Lucas Teeckeninge 1637" which Rembrandt owned.
