Prudence

Its large scale and brilliant colours indicate that this roundel of Prudence was designed to be visible from a distance. It was probably intended to be part of a ceiling or wall decoration. The inspiration for the roundel was certainly the ceiling decoration by Luca della Robbia in San Miniato al Monte, Florence.
