Deliverance of St Peter from Prison

The two bas-reliefs, the Deliverance of St Peter from Prison and the Crucifixion of St Peter, are all that remains of two marble altars commissioned from Luca in 1439 for the Tribune of San Zanobi. The reliefs clearly shows the influence of Masaccio; the solid corporeality of the figures is reminiscent of Masaccio's work in the Brancacci Chapel.
