The Bartolini Salimbeni Coat of Arms is an example of the elegance and preciosity of decoration combined with the ornamental value of the sculpture which characterised Luca di Andrea's art.

The Bartolini Salimbeni family originated from Siena, but moved to Florence in the 14th century. The move proved successful and the family quickly amassed enormous wealth through trading in silk. As a result, they held political office many times.
