ROENTGEN, German family of cabinetmakers

Abraham Roentgen (1711-1793) founded in 1750 one of Europe's most widely renowned furniture workshops. From 1772 he worked in partnership with his son David Roentgen. The family workshop was famous for its fine Rococo-styled furniture and for music boxes, clocks, and mechanical toys.
