Aurelian (214-275) was Roman Emperor from 270 to 275. The the so-called "Palmyrene Empire" in Syria was ruled by Queen Zenobia from the city of Palmyra. Emperor Aurelian conquered Palmyra and Zenobia and her son were captured and made to walk on the streets of Rome in his triumph, the woman in golden chains.
