Alfred la Guigne

Alfred la Guigne was the title of a story in a book by Oscar Métenier that had appeared in 1891. However, in this scene, which is probably set in the Moulin de la Galette, Lautrec has actually portrayed his friend Gaston Bonnefoy and only later did he offer it as an illustration for Métenier's book.
