The picture shows the underside of Van Vianen's basin.
The basin is made up by two sheets of silver which were chased separately before being joined with nuts and bolts, which are visible only on the underside, having been absorbed into the design of the rim. Both sides of the rim are decorated in a unique style, displaying auricular ornamentation.
