VIGRI, Caterina
(b. 1413, Bologna, d. 1463, Bologna)

Breviary with Miniatures

1452
Tempera on parchment, 200 x 300 mm
Convent of the Corpus Domini, Bologna

These folios belong to a Breviary, a parchment manuscript of 519 sheets, almost all written in two columns, decorated with ornaments and miniatures inserted in the principal capital letters and sometimes straying into the margins. The autography of the codex is confirmed by the presence of Vigni's signature in three passages.

The present picture shows folio 71v containing a miniature with the face of Christ in the letter K; and folio 112v containing a miniature with the bust of Christ.
