Vividly De Wet illustrated the Bible story in which the infant Moses was found by Pharaoh's daughter in a reed basket floating on the Nile. The princess and her ladies-in-waiting look with surprise at the find.

Gerrit (Gerardus) de Wet was a follower and imitator of Rembrandt.
