The Catacombs of Marcellinus and Peter are situated on the ancient Via Labicana in Rome. Their name refers to the Christian martyrs Marcellinus and Peter who, according to tradition, were buried here.
The fresco on the ceiling of a funeral chamber depicts Christ between Sts Peter and Paul. Below four martyrs adore the Mystical Lamb.
