Tympanum and lintel

1125-50
Stone
La Madeleine, Neuilly-en-Donjon

The tympanum represents the Epiphany while on the lintel the meal in Simon's house is depicted. The figures of the Epiphany walk on the backs of two impressive beasts occupying the lower zone. The angels sounding the trumpet recall the resurrection of the dead.
