Church of St James, Regensburg

The entire layout of the north portal of the former Benedictine abbey church of St James in Regensburg (Bavaria) is reminiscent of an ancient triumphal arch. The portal is fitted into a wall covered with reliefs. The theme of the wall is the conflict between Good and Evil with regard to the Last Judgment. The tympanum of the portal shows the blessing Christ between St James the Great and John the Evangelist.
