Below the Greek text on folio 5 recto, the miniature is overarched by a mighty rainbow. This and the hand reaching from the heavens are the sign of the covenant which God established after the Flood with Noah and his three sons Shem, Ham and Japheth, after they had left the Ark once more (cf. Genesis 9, 8-17).
