This manuscript contains two miniatures depicting nine heroes (on folio 125r) and nine heroines (on folio 125v) depicting the eighteen figures in the same sequence as the fresco cycle in the Castello della Manta.
The miniatures in this richly illuminated codex are thought to be the work of the Master of the Cité des Dames, who is associated with the Master of the Hours of Maréchal de Boucicaut.
