This manuscript contains a monastic treatise Johannes de Deo from the Eremitic monastery of the Carthusians in Venice.
The Renaissance miniature on folio 43r is the title illustration to Book III. It portrays a decorative carriage (with wheels visible underneath), of the kind used in Easter processions, with fantastical architecture. A putto is standing in the middle in front of an illusionistic window, which opens onto a view of a spring landscape. Two putti above are holding a mirror to catch the sun.
