This manuscript contains the horoscopes of people born under the twelve signs of the zodiac, followed by an actual astrological and astronomical treatise dealing with the planets, months, and days. The decoration is laid out on twelve pages, each devoted to a sign and illustrated with watercolour drawings of the symbols of the zodiac. In the lower part of each page the planets are represented in human form, as well as the activities and temperaments favoured by the different astral conjunctions.
In the picture shown here all the signs of the zodiac are reproduced from folios 3-8v.
The unidentified artist was influenced by Pisanello and was probably active in the courts of Mantua, Ferrara and Verona.
