The large miniatures of the manuscript are treated as small panel paintings in their own right in terms of composition, they take up half or even whole pages. In the present miniature on folio 52r, incredulously, the crowd surrounds Jesus, who is teaching (top) and healing the sick (bottom) in his hometown.
