Chaucer: Canterbury Tales

1425-50
Manuscript (Ms. 29)

Manuscripts of Chaucer's Canterbury Tales were frequently illuminated but seldom illustrated. This copy was probably made in London in the second quarter of the fifteenth century. Folio 41v shows here the opening of the Miller's Tale.
