This Latin codex, a pictorial book of arms of the Order of the Garter, contains 26 full page miniatures with a standing knight holding a panel with heraldic shields of successors in their Garter stalls at St George Chapel, Windsor, and one full page miniature of George and the dragon and a kneeling Garter King (the principal officer of the Order).
The miniature on folio 5v shows the Garter King wearing a tabard with the royal arms and crown kneeling before George, who is spearing a dragon, with two Garters at the top of the page. The Garter King may be a representation of the first Garter King, William Bruges. On the facing folio 6 is an added inscription.
