Polygonal-Shaped Chair

c. 1500
Pinewood with walnut framewwork, 70 x 60 x 50 cm
Museo Horne, Florence

This chair has been fashioned in a style typical of the 14th century, although it dates from a century later. It might be an abbot's seat coming from a monastery, or perhaps a piece of furniture from a wealthy private home.
