The cabinet, made in Antwerp shortly after 1650, consists of two parts: the actual cabinet and the table with Tuscan columns supporting it. The central part of the cabinet itself takes the form of a cupboard. The outside of the cabinet is almost completely covered with tortoiseshell and ornamented in gilded bronze.
