This plaque is part of a long-standing Delft tradition of depicting the interiors of the city's churches. It shows the whitewashed interior of a Gothic church, which had been stripped of its decoration after the Reformation. A biblical scene is shown in it: the parable of the Pharisee and the publican (Luke 18:10-14).
