Badia Fiesolana, San Domenico

The Badia Fiesolana is an old monastery located in the town of San Domenico, in-between Fiesole and Florence. It was built between 1025-1028 on the location of a former chapel dedicated to St Peter and St Romulus. The much larger adjoining abbey was built in 1456-1467 under the patronage of Cosimo de' Medici the Elder, however, it remained unfinished because Cosimo the Elder died prior to its completion.

The photo shows the façade of the church.
