The cathedral of Lund (which was part of Denmark at the time) was begun c. 1110 by King Niels (1104-1134) and Asser, the first archbishop (died 1134). It was consecrated in 1134. The building is a basilica with an alternating system of support, projecting transept, choir and façade with twin towers. It is the most important Nordic successor to the imperial cathedral of Speyer.
The photo shows the eastern end of the cathedral.
