Cathedral, Salisbury

During the second half of the 13th century the momentum generated by Westminster Abbey helped to create a large number of new buildings. Westminster's chapter house, completed under the master mason Henry of Reyns, served as a model for the chapter house at Salisbury. It was built as an exquisite glass cage in which all the wall surfaces are transformed into vast windows.

The photo shows the Chapter House in Salisbury Cathedral looking north.
