San Juan de Duero Monastery, Soria

The Monastery of San Juan de Duero is a ruined, medieval monastery located in Soria. The monastery is a clear example of Romanesque architecture, with one nave covered with wood, with a semicircular apse and a pointed barrel vault.

This complex was founded by the Knights Templar in 1134. One century later, the Knights Hospitaller ordered to build the cloister of San Juan de Duero. The 12th century church, and the cloister, from the early 13th century, with Gothic and Mudejar architectural elements, are preserved.
