I loved the site. I am trying to find the origin of a painting I have that is oil. The name is "Huber" but cannot read the first name. It is done in dark colors and is a portrait of a old man with a fiddle he had small glass at the tip of his nose and a small dark cap on his head. an excellent page, am having difficulty finding information regarding tapestries, anyone with any info on where to look for tapestries circa 1500 - 1700, possibly French. The tapestry in question I am trying to find info on is of a court scene with Marie-Antoinette. It was a one stage held by the Guruby or Trojanov family in Hungary in a tapestry gallery with many other tapestries. Unfortunately due to the uprising many of these were lost. I am particularly iterested in Marcel Duchamp and very curious to know about counterpoints between himself and Le Corbusier, I have found one instance where I can put Duchamp and Le Corbusier in similar surroundings when Duchamp was telling a joke Jane Drew went off to make dessert.
