A pupil of Perugino, Sinibaldo Ibi closely followed his master while working in his studio and his painting also bear the influence of Raphael and Pinturicchio. The present panel follows the composition of Perugino's 1497 predella for the altarpiece in the church of Santa Maria Nuova, Fano.
